When seeking expositions of practice as research, we have been aiming for presentations that put artistic practice into an epistemic frame in such a way that novel understandings can emerge and be shared. However, as we have been discovering, there are many ways and modes of framing, whether it is from a personal, historical, systematic, or methodological perspective, to name a few. This suggests that expositionality is more of a distributed characteristic across and between elements of a submission than the setting of a single epistemic frame.
