Alessandra Di Pisa is an artist, researcher, and associate professor in visual communication and design at Linköping University. She is part of the artist duo DiPisaStasinski, together with Robert Stasinski. Their work is situated within a transdisciplinary and technoecological framework, combining performative and aesthetic strategies to challenge anthropocentric narratives and to explore new approaches to understanding and shaping advanced technologies.
Their research engages with the intersections of art, science, and technology, addressing relationships between humans, machines, and the more-than-human world. It examines the role of artificial intelligence and robotics within broader ecological and philosophical contexts, investigating their potential as dynamic agents in symbiosis with their environments.
In 2025, DiPisaStasinski was awarded the grant for artistic research from the Swedish Research Council for the project Technoecology – Performing Computation and Aesthetic Sensibility. In 2023, they presented the transdisciplinary research project Enchanted Threads of Visual Archana – GESTALTOLOGY ENCODED at Visualiseringscenter C in Norrköping, Sweden, developed in collaboration with Linköping University and Stockholm University. In 2021, the interactive AI-robotic sculpture Being Unthinkable… was inaugurated in Kista, Sweden, and was created in collaboration with IBM and KTH Royal Institute of Technology.
Di Pisa serves as Head of Division at Malmstens, Linköping University, and has previously held academic positions at KTH Media Technology and Interaction Design, KTH School of Architecture, and Berghs School of Communication. For more information please visit: alessandradipisa.com
