Mariangela Aponte Núñez (Cali, Colombia) is a transdisciplinary artist whose practices explore from individual to collective creation the intersection between traditional media, hand-craft techniques and experimental electronics along with aesthetic, environmental, social and political concerns often through methodologies inspired by collaborative art and the DIWO (do it with others) practices. She has been an artist in residence of the Colombia-France Year 2017, El Puente_lab, RESÒ 2015 and an ELAP 2012 scholarship holder. Her individual and collaborative projects have been presented in cities such as Cali, Havana, Turin, Strasbourg, Montreal and Buenos Aires. She has a Master’s degree in technology and aesthetics of electronic arts (UNTREF, Buenos Aires) and a degree in visual arts (Universidad del Valle, Cali). She is currently interested in the art-body-life relationship, being a practitioner of Iyengar Yoga and observing plants, fungi and organic materials to create holistic artistic processes.
