Tosin Tume is a choreographer, theatre creator, culture consultant, scholar, and award-winning playwright. She is also a performing artiste, versatile in the arts of music, dance and drama. She has a B.A in English, M.A in Theatre Arts, and Ph.D. in Performing Arts. She is presently a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Theatre and Media Arts, Federal University, Oye-Ekiti, Nigeria, where she also doubles as Head of Department. She has been a theatre practitioner for over two decades, and she has more than ten years of teaching experience in the university. Her research interests include: choreographic theories, trends in African dance practice, new African festivals, African theatre and performance (practice and research), feminist identities in African performances, gender representation in pop culture and the new media, taboo topics in female writings, storytelling, and play-creating. Her research findings on African theatre and performance are published widely in several journals and books. She also has to her credit, several published and unpublished creative works. She has participated in several international festivals and carnivals in diverse capacities such as performer, choreographer, resource person, artistic consultant, and adjudicator.
