Libby Myers is a guitarist and Doctor of Musical Arts candidate at Griffith University’s Creative Arts Research Institute. Her current research explores how performers’ identities leave unique imprints on their performances, using innovative artistic and narrative methods. Other research interests include subjectivity, embodiment, self-ethics, artistic experimentation and improvisation in contemporary music. She has worked as a research intern and assistant on a number of collaborative, interdisciplinary projects within the Queensland Conservatorium Research Centre.

Previously, she studied a Master of Philosophy at The University of Queensland, exploring the application of Stanislavskian acting techniques to musical interpretation and performance. Libby is an active member of Australia’s contemporary music community, performing regularly both as a soloist and collaborator.
